A DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE

Unlike traditional classes, my program centers around stories, not grammar or vocabulary lists. Grammar and lists are hard to remember to most people, but everyone can remember stories! In each level we go over 4-5 long stories. Each one presents characters and events from different Spanish speaking places. This way you are not only acquiring language, you are also learning about Spanish speaking peoples from around the world.

After many years of teaching using “traditional” methods, I realized that they only work for a few students. That’s when I started focusing more on CI (Comprehensible Input). CI is not a teaching method, it’s a principle of language acquisition that states that no one can acquire a language without being exposed to it in a comprehensible and compelling way. And that’s what my job as a teacher is! To make language comprehensible to my students, and to make that language interesting and compelling so that you don’t lose focus!
