FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Do I have to start from level 1?
No! If you already know some Spanish, you can start at your current level. Take the level test to determine the ideal level for you. Contact me if you have questions about placement.

  • What if I start at a level and it’s too hard, or too easy for me?
You can contact me to determine if a different level might be better for you. As long as that level is being offered, I can help you switch courses.

  • How much will I learn?
It’s hard to make predictions when it comes to learning languages since there is a good deal of individual variation from person to person. The outcome can depend on your time, motivation, experience, etc. See the chart below for the approximate expected outcomes of each level:
    Level 1 A1.1
    Level 2 A1.2
    Level 3 A2.1
    Level 4 A2.2
    Level 5A B1.1
    Level 5B B1.1
    Level 5C B1.1
    Level 6A B1.2
    Level 6B B1.2

  • Do you offer a guarantee?
Yes! If you sign up to any course, you can request a full refund within the first 2 weeks of class. After that you can request a partial refund equivalent to half of the unused classes.

  • Do I need to buy books for the classes?
No! For levels 1-4 all the materials are included with the price of the course. This includes access to the online books that are part of the course and lots of other books you can read on your own. You may need to purchase some books for levels 5 and 6, but they are very affordable ($10-$15).

  • Do you have a referral program?
Yes! Get a friend to sign up and you each get $50 off a course. Make sure your friend refers you when they sign up and I’ll process a $50 refund on the original payment methods.

  • What payment methods do you take?
You can pay via credit/debit card from this website, or you can contact me to make the payment via PayPal or Venmo.

  • How do we meet for classes?
We meet for our synchronous classes using Google Meet or a similar video conferencing application. You can connect with any device, but I recommend a computer/tablet since cell phone screens may be too small to read some text.

  • What if I can’t attend a class at the given schedule?
If you can’t make it to class, you can always watch the recordings after class. I recommend you attend as many live lessons as possible to be able to interact and ask questions.

  • How old do you have to be to sign up?
The classes have been designed to be taken by adults. That said, anyone 15 or older can sign up!

  • Is a certificate provided?
All my students are provided with a digital certificate for each level completed successfully. In addition, I can orient you on how to get other forms of certification, like an ACTFL certificate.

  • Is there a minimum or maximum number of students per class?
Since this platform is new, I only require two students to confirm the class. If the course is cancelled, students who signed up will be offered a full refund to the original payment method.

  • Do you offer private tutoring?
Yes! Follow this link to view my availability and sign up. Or contact me with any questions.
